FAQ:

How does PRP work?
This treatment involves extracting a patient's own blood, processing it to concentrate the platelets, and then injecting the platelets into the skin.
Platelets are tiny cell fragments in the blood that play an important role in wound healing. They contain growth factors and other bioactive proteins that help stimulate tissue repair and regeneration. In PRP,  a high concentration of platelets are used to accelerate scar healing, new tissue regeneration  and stimulate collagen production. This results in an even toned, firmer, smoother and youthful looking skin complexion.

How long do PRP take to show results?
While results can vary depending on factors such as the individual's skin condition and skin type, many people notice improvements in their skin's appearance within 1-2 weeks of PRP treatment. Many patients report an instant firmness and “glow” to their skin. However, results continue to improve up to 6 months after treatment as collagen remodeling continues.

What areas can be treated with PRP?
PRP can be used on all parts of the body. Common areas include: face, neck, chest, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.

Does PRP hurt?
PRP is a well-tolerated, almost pain free treatment, thanks to the topical anesthetic that is applied on the treatment area 10 - 15 mins prior to treatment.

How many PRP treatments will I need?
A series of 3 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart are recommended for best results. Patients with advanced photo-aging, hyperpigmentation or acne scars may require more sessions to achieve optimal results.

How should I prepare for my PRP treatment?
We recommend our clients to temporarily discontinue any retinol, retinoids, vit A creams 3-5 days prior to the treatment. Additionally avoid any blood thinning medications or supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil), Gingko Biloba, or Ginseng prior to treatment. This will help minimize any bruising after the procedure. Protection of the skin against UV radiation immediately after treatment is very important to avoid any post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.

Does PRP involve any downtime?

After the procedure, patients may experience some redness, swelling, or bruising in the treated area, which typically subsides within a 1-3 days. Most people can resume their normal activities immediately after PRP treatment, although it's advisable to avoid sun exposure and strenuous exercise for the first 24 hrs. Makeup can worn after 24 hrs.
