FRACTIONAL SKIN RESURFACING
SUBLATIVE REJUVENATION

Fractional Skin Resurfacing is the one treatment that can peel away all your skin problems - hyperpigmentation, acne scars, enlarged pores, age spots, uneven skin texture, sagging skin, fine lines and wrinkles - revealing healthy, glowy skin in just one session.

The Sublative RF applicator by Elos Plus is designed to deliver radio frequency (RF) energy to the skin in a fractional manner, via an array of multi-electrode pins. The RF generates heat mainly in the dermis (the middle layer of the skin) and causes minimal injury to the epidermis (top layer of the skin). This process causes stimulation of fibroblast present in the dermis, triggering it to produce collagen and elastin, resulting in new, firm, regenerated skin.

FAQ:

How does Radio Frequency (RF) work?

Radio Frequency is a form of electrical current that converts into heat energy once inside the body. The heat generated by the RF travels through both the dermal and subcutaneous layers of the skin stimulating collagen ( a protein that holds skin tissue together) fibers and making them contract, resulting in a tighter, smoother skin. It also accelerates fibroblast (cells that produce collagen) metabolism allowing increased collagen regeneration and long term skin tightening and firming.

How does Fractional Skin Resurfacing help with Acne Scars and Hyperpigmentation?

The RF heat delivered by the Sublative creates columns of thermal destruction in the treated area. This thermal destruction signals the body to perceive the treated area as "injured." The injury stimulates break down of old, damaged tissue and produces new skin cells to replace scar tissue. This process is accompanied by the stimulation of fibroblasts which produce collagen and elastin, which provide firmness and elasticity to the renewed skin.

How long does it take to see results?

The time taken to see results varies from individual to individual. Most patients start to see skin tightening results immediately after the first treatment.  The skin will continue to improve for up to 6 months after treatments, due to continued collagen production.

We recommend a series 3 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimum results, especially for acne scars and advanced hyperpigmentation.

Does Fractional Skin Resurfacing hurt?

A topical anesthetic is applied 30 mins prior to treatment in order to ensure a comfortable and pain-free treatment. Most patients describe the treatment to be like warm pin-pricks.

Does Fractional Skin Resurfacing have a downtime?

There is a short downtime involved. After treatment, most patients feel a slight burning sensation which lessens over few hours (icing the area helps). Slight redness, similar to sunburn, is to be expected, which should resolve within 48 - 72 hours. Routine skincare and makeup application can be resumed after 24 hours. You may experience peeling of the skin 2-3 days post treatment which may continue for up to 7 days.

What should I do to prepare for my Fractional Skin Resurfacing treatment?

We recommend all clients to discontinue use of any retinol, retinoids, vit A creams 3 - 5 days prior to treatment. These may increase photo sensitivity.
