How does Hollywood Carbon Peel work?
This treatment is a 3 step process that takes around 30 - 45 minutes from start to finish. For this reason, it is sometimes referred to as a lunchtime peel.

After thoroughly cleansing, we spread a layer of liquid carbon onto your face. The carbon absorbs oil, dirt, and dead skin cells from deep within the pores. We wait for about10 minutes for the liquid carbon to dry.

Then we do the first pass of Spectra laser all over the treatment area. This heats up the carbon, binding it to the skin.
If you have very sensitive skin or dark patches like melasma, this step may be skipped. -
Then on a higher-energy setting, the laser will be used to break down the liquid carbon into tiny particles. It may look like smoke is evaporating off your face, but it is the carbon with attached oil, dead skin and impurities. A few more passes may be made in accordance with the condition we are trying to treat.
Finally, a hydrating sheet mask is used to boost hydration and sunscreen is applied to protect from any UV damage before you walk out. You should immediately see brighter, glowing skin and tighter pores.

Is Hollywood Carbon Peel painful ?
No, it is a painless, non-invasive treatment. Most patients report a rubber band snapping sensation during the laser pass followed by a slight warm sensation of the skin afterward. This warm sensation stays for a maximum of 60 minutes after treatment and then calms down. Overall, it is not an uncomfortable treatment at all.
How long does Hollywood Carbon Peel take to show results?
You should see results immediately. Most patients report seeing brighter, glowing skin and tighter pores. However, with certain skin conditions such as acne scars melasma etc., a series of 3 - 4 treatments is required to see best results. These results will also continue to improve with each subsequent treatment.

How should I prepare for my Hollywood Carbon Peel?
We recommend our clients to temporarily discontinue any retinol, retinoids, vit A creams 3-5 days prior to the treatment. Additionally avoid any blood thinning medications or supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil), Gingko Biloba, or Ginseng prior to treatment. This will help minimize any inflammation after the procedure. Protection of the skin again UV radiation immediately after treatment is very important to avoid any post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. Sun protection should be diligently applied for at least 10 - 14 days, but ideally every day moving forward.
Does Hollywood Carbon Peel involve any downtime?
This procedure involves absolutely no downtime and is often referred to as a "red carpet ready" treatment. Occasionally some clients with sensitive skin can experience a little redness and if this is the case it will settle within a few hours.
