FAQ:

How does Hydra-dermabrasion work?
The procedure starts with cleansing the face using a non-irritating foaming cleanser. This dissolves any dirt, sebum, and cosmetic residue in the pores. Then a diamond tip tool is used to gently sand your skin, to remove the dead outer layer of your skin, while a vacuum suction simultaneously sucks the debris. This is followed by hydra-dermabrasion which uses a vacuum based exfoliating tool and specialized chemical peels to exfoliate and hydrate your skin at the same time. This step is the essence of the treatment and is divided into 3 parts:

1. Non-irritating Cleansing: where a Lactic acid (AHA) based serum is used to further dissolve the dead outer layer of your skin and promote new skin cell regeneration, break down melanin (hyperpigmentation) as well as promote collagen production to firm the skin. Plant extracts (yeast, sea weed) in the serum help calm any inflammation.
2.  T-Zone Intensive Care: where a Salicylic acid (BHA) based serum is used to remove oil, target acne causing bacteria on the skin and clear out any stubborn blackheads, whiteheads or clogged pores. It also contains natural moisturizing ingredients to soothe the skin.
3. Nourish and moisturize: a hydrating serum with vitamin E, glycerin, soy extract, green tea extract, cypress leaf extract and peptides is infused deep into the skin to  restore hydration, promote skin cell regeneration, improve elasticity and deeply moisturize.

The next step is micro-current, where a low-voltage current is used to stimulate muscle ATP and collagen development in the skin. This improves muscle tone, reduces puffiness and increase cellular activity to tighten fine lines and wrinkles. This is followed by lymphatic drainage massage where specialized suction cups are used to drain excess cellular fluid and toxins into the lymph nodes to further reduce facial puffiness and tighten the skin.
Next, we custom pick a hydrating facial mask based on your skin type to boost hydration, reduce any inflammation and brighten skin tone. Then, a specialized jet spray is used to spray highly concentrated molecules of oxygen right into your face and neck. This oxygen treatment is infused with vitamins, minerals, essential nutrients, and botanical extracts to detoxify the skin and bring instant glow by saturating the red blood cells. Oxygen helps to increase cell turnover, which in turn boosts collagen production resulting in firm, plump skin. Finally, a custom LED light is chosen based on your skin type (Red: Anti-aging and collagen boosting; Yellow: soothes inflammation and redness; Blue/Purple: acne and acne scars; Green: hyperpigmentation and dark circles) to target specific skin conditions and soothe the skin.

How long do Hydra-dermabrasion take to show results?
Most patients report instant firmness, hydration and a “glow” to their skin. However, results continue to improve if this treatment is repeated every 4 weeks.

How should I prepare for my Hydra-dermabrasion treatment?
We recommend our clients to temporarily discontinue any retinol, retinoids, vit A creams 3-5 days prior to the treatment. Additionally avoid any blood thinning medications or supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil), Gingko Biloba, or Ginseng prior to treatment. This will help minimize any inflammation after the procedure. Protection of the skin again UV radiation immediately after treatment is very important to avoid any post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.

Does Hydra-dermabrasion involve any downtime?

This procedure involves absolutely no downtime and is often referred to as a "red carpet ready" treatment. It is meant to boost hydration and firmness of the skin and is great for anyone getting ready for a special event. Occasionally some clients with sensitive skin can experience a little redness and if this is the case it will settle within a few hours.
